I offer high quality traditional acupuncture in York at Miller's Yard and Darlington at The Civic Clinic. I have 22 years experience supporting people with a wide range of physical, mental and emotional health conditions.
My business is called Gateway to Acupuncture because I would like to open a door to acupuncture, particularly to people that have never used it before.
Traditional acupuncture, uses a holistic approach to diagnose and correct underlying imbalances with fine needles. The focus is on restoring health rather than diagnosing and curing specific diseases, as with conventional medicine. Moxabustion may be used alongside needles and is an integral part of traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture.
What makes my acupuncture different to other practitioners is that in addition to training in 'TCM' and 'Five Element' styles, which most acupuncturists in the UK have learned, I have studied in Japan, and am able to use the methods of Toyohari. This approach uses gentle, pain free, needle techniques, and is suitable for for children and those wary of needles. I am also qualified in Shonishin (Japanese children’s acupuncture), Kanpo (the Japanese method of working with Chinese herbs), and Craniosacral therapy.

My patients say:
“I am a keen walker. I came to the clinic and after 3 treatments there was a marked improvement. To be honest I was quite surprised and impressed. The treatment was not in the least bit painful and I would definitely recommend it”

”I’ve been coming for regular treatment since September 2012 for a serious medical condition where there are a number of symptoms. I suffered with insomnia and was very worried about my health. I can honestly say things started to turn around when I began acupuncture and my quality of life and energy levels have never been better”.
